We last read Chapter 50, in which Ethan receives a text message from Beth’s phone, leading him to find a barely conscious Sapphire Angel chained to her car in her secret garage. Recognizing that she is in bad shape, he carries her to his car and speeds off into the night.
Part of me feels like Raven’s going to turn against Wheldon soon. But still…..unless something mind-boggling happens, Sapphire Angel’s identity is no longer secret; Raven in particular is VERY high-risk. Interested to see how they’re dealt with by the end of this.
Just realized that I’m officially over 2/3rds of the way done with this book (Chapter 51 out of 75). It’s….kind of….starting to wind down now! I’ve enjoyed the ride, and will definitely be sticking around for Book 3! I’ve heard there’s at least 5 books in the series, though!
Yep, books 4 and 5 are in "testing" right now, to follow after book 3, which is in progress here on Substack . . . assuming Sapphire Angel makes it out of this predicament.
Does this EVER get better? I'm all for realism but this is MURDER!!!!! How can you be a super heroine if people know your secret identity? This is killing me!!!!1
I'll admit, Arthur, the secret identity part was the hardest part for me to navigate when writing this story. I've tried to drop a few hints on where this is going, but hang in there.
One thing I've tried to do in each story is create a threat that the main character has to overcome, that is more than just a physical threat, because without that underlying danger, a story can be lacking. In this particular story, the current threat revolves around the loss of her secret identity, and what it might mean in future chapters.
This reminds me of the adventure serials I watched every Saturday Matinee at the Movie Theatre. I would just die week in and out waiting for the next installment. I love how the tension continues, but I've got to admit, it's killing me wondering how it turns out. I always had theories, but the fun is waiting to see if you were right. Thank you for the reply.
